Hi
Ever since version 1.6.0 I have had problems using the user admin tool to assign blocks for My Page.
It rarely works properly. SOmetimes I am able to assig one or two and save them. At ohter times nothing happens when I use the arrows, and sometimes my prior settings are deleteted after a save.

It seems to be broken since 1.5.3.

I have recentyly re-installed my web server and restored webtrees database, mediafiles and config.info.php.

I did restore database, media files and config.info.php backups from an 1.5.3 installation to a newly installed 1.6.0 webtrees, and all seems to work except the blokc assignment tool

I wonder if there is someting missing in my restore, or if it is a known bug ?

Are you seeing an error in the logs? Perhaps one of the files was corrupted or failed to install properly.
Have you tried to modify the blocks via the USER management admin interface?

I was indeed using the user administration page for the changes.

I lhave looked in various apache log files but find nothing to indicate any errors.

However, it looks like there is both javascript and PHP code involved and I have no idea where these subsystems would log any errors. Alternatively it might be a timeout of some kind.

If you are setting your own blocks, do so from your MY PAGE page. Still no 'sticking'?

Hi ToyGuy

a quick test seems to indicate that it is more stable than the admin page version.

I will have to try it som more through masquerading as other users.

Thanks for your suggestiong. When I have more facts I will let you know the result.

I can confirm having the same/similar issue.

Trying to change users' "My Page" blocks doesn't work all the time. I just tried now with one user - it was fine and I was able to change a block. Moved to another user and it didn't work. Select the block to add or remove and click the appropriate direction arrow. The highlight changes but the block doesn't move. Went back to the user for whom it had worked and the problem remained. I've tried in Chrome and IE, only difference was how many users I changed before having the problem.

Hmm.

Since it is reproducible by others, it seems it is a regular bug. How are bugs repoorted ?
