What exactly do you mean by "your server" in the URL as required in the Installation procedure? Sorry I'm a bit dumb! Is it Google, MS, my ISP or whatever?

Do you mean the instruction to "copy the config.ini.php file to your server"?

If so, then your server is the web-server (where you installed webtrees).

There is a sub-directory called "data", and you want to put this file there.

If you copied the webtrees files to your server using an "FTP" program, then use the same program to do that.

Many thanks for the prompt reply. I now realise I have a lot more learning to do re setting up a web-server. I'll keep working on it and will contact you again if I get stuck. Cheers gwebros
