TOPIC: webtrees 1.3.2 installation fails

webtrees 1.3.2 installation fails 5 years 11 months ago #1

I started all over with installing webtrees after yesterdays install. Which failed also, but with help from here and an new session.php file it seems to work. Importing from PGV started.
However I could not login. So I deleted webtrees from my server completely. Then I uploaded the unzipped version again, so it would be an clean version.
In my browser I start to configure all things like DB and mail function.
I downloaded config.ini.php and uploaded it, set permissions and click continue. Then I get a login screen and there it fails because I never added a user yet.
Which user is this, and I miss the migration page.
Help please

The migration will delete all the webtrees user accounts, and replace them with the PGV user accounts.

So, you must login with your old PGV username/password.

You are confusing me.

Yesterday, you said:
Then I see an admin screen where to make new tree then save of click to start migration wizzard. The migrationproces won't start at all.

So, I guessed you had already managed to log in.

What did you do differently this time? ;-)

Yesterday I couln't start the migration proces. You sended me an update session file which I also uploaded and the migration worked fine. However I couln't login with my old PGV login. Perhaps a failure with language or because I edited the Masterlogin from PGV to my own name and pw.

So Idecided to deleted webtrees from my server completly. Then I uploaded a new version of webtrees.
In my browser I started the configurationprocess. After uploading config.ini.php and setting permissions I click continue and then a login screen appears.

What username do I use there. PGV does not work even admin won't work and the login for this website also doesn't work.

When beginning any new installation, the login remains the one you selected as part of the configuration - UNLESS AND UNTIL, you continue to proceed with a PGV => WT wizard. If you login with the first admin, then use the wizard instead of creating a tree, then when you try to log in again (after a successful import or PGV) your admin login will be the one in PGV.
because I edited the Masterlogin from PGV to my own name and pw.
You CAN NOT change a PW in PGV manually. These are encrypted. If you wish your new WT admin to be different, visit your operating PGV site and change your PW and UserName via the MY ACCOUNT feature, before trying to import via the wizard.

The PGV => WT wizard replaces the one admin user you created via SETUP.php with the PGV version.

OK this is what I did just a few minutes ago.

1) Deleted DB from server incl all tables and users.
2) Made new DB with users
3) Deleted config.ini.php
4) In my browser I went to my webtrees adres.
5) Configured itusing all new DB info and users
6) Downloaded new config.ini.php
7) Uploaded the config.ini.php and the session.php(from yesterday)
8) Click continue and the migration screen appears
9) Click migration and it found my PGV map, continued migration
10) The loginscreen of webtreest appears but the login failed to work.

The login in PGV is Arno158 pw: xxx

Ask new pw won't send mail, Ask new account gives error see attachment

Before you started the transfer process, were you able to gain access to your PGV installation with that U/N and PW? Did you check the table in SQL to see that your PW was propertly encrypted?

After the long list of tables transferred:
Did you review your tables in SQL to see if it appears as though the DB transferred?
Did you check your wt_user table to see if your U/N is there and there is something in the PW field that appears to be encrypted?
U/N is not case sensitive but the PW field is.

Ah Ha - Turn off privacy restrictions on the PGV installation and redo the transfer.
IIRC, there is a bug on logging into a totally locked down site. For me, I've never understood why someone would wish to do this, but some do, and its their site.

Greg can better describe the problem you are seeing.

It seems that the PGV-WT wizard is quite broken in webtrees-1.3.2. None of the configuration settings are migrated

I can only suggest that you install 1.3.1, then run the wizard, then upgrade.

I have fixed the problems, so the 1.3.3 release will be OK.
