Hello!

On PGV I used the Clustrmaps statistic. On webtrees i didn’t see any possibility to use this too? Is there a chance? Would be nice.

Thx for advice.

What is clustrmap?

Was it a part of PGV or was it a third-party addon?

Yes it was. Here you see the website:

www.paul-engl.at/pgv/

On the bottom of the page there is this small world map which leads to:

clustrmaps.com/site/19xbj?utm_source=widget

It somehow was easy to integrate in the frontpage when using the Configuration of PHPGedView. In "web analysis" you just entered a clustre code like this: cdn.clustrmaps.com/map_v2.js?cl=ffffff&w=300&t=m&d=xxxxxxxxxxx

I liked it, would be nice to use also in webitrees.

Just googled it, PGV had all sorts of tracking & tracing modules you could enable/disable.

For your information, webtrees has gone back to basics and moved away from zillions of configurable thingamabobs only some sites used for eye candy.

You can have this, but you'll have to put it there yourself. Either with a JavaScript block or with a custom theme.

Ah. I thought it was some genealogy tool that showed your ancestors on some sort of map...

webtrees already has built-in support for 5 popular tracking/analytics services.
There's a section for this on the control panel.
I'm happy to consider adding other *popular* ones. Does anybody else use this?
I had never heard of it before.

Also, I looked at their website, and couldn't find instructions on how to add the code.
Perhaps this info is only available after you sign up?

BTW - there is one advantage to having these tracker codes added directly by webtrees...
...webtrees obeys the "Do-Not-Track" headers sent by browsers, so it does not add tracking codes when this header is set.

@bertkoor:
@fisharebest:
I appreciate the smooth and clear administration and work of webtrees! it make more fun then the last PHPGedView version.
I understand that zillions of addons make the basic use complicated and slow.
Sorry my knowledge is quite limited about creating a JavaScript block are even more creating a custome theme. I love and appreciate all YOUR work you are doing for this fantastic project! THANKS!

Anyhow this clustermaps was an integrated stat possibility like there also now are some in web trees. (Google analytics I avoid!) StatCounter is nice but doesn't show any results direct in webtrees. The nice thing with clustrmaps was that on the Genealogy it self you can see where from all over the world people visit your genealogy.

Direct in PHPGedView / MyGedViewPortal / Admin / Configuration / Site Configuration / Web Analytics / Clustr WebAnalytics you could enter a clustrmaps Server number which you got from clustrmaps.com.

How this integration into webtrees could work maybe could be similar to PHPGedView if somebody knows about the source code of PGV?
In clustrmaps you find a code specified for your account with or without Javascript:

clustrmaps.com/profile/xxxxxx/widget/code/map
clustrmaps.com/profile/

I would love if you could add it to the other Tracking and Analysis options! Would help people having used PGV to stay with something they used and know about and not needing to go to something new!

Personal I have no idea what Piwik is, and avoid Google and Bing.

Looking forward to further development!
Enjoy your time!
Thanks!
Andreas

SUCCESS!

I added a HTML block to the right side of the main page. I switched to Sourcecode and entered the "Image based (basic version for websites that don't support javascript)" code from clustrmaps.com/profile/xxxxx/widget/customize in 400x232 size.
Switching back from Sourcecode it first showed a small point and then the image of custrmaps appears. Then when the Images is marked going to "image properties" the code is divided to the different section. Only Align center is not possible, only left and right.

For me it looks nice.

A Javascript solution may be would be better? Till now entering the JavaScripted code doesn't work using the same way. Maybe somebody finds even a better solution?
