Sorry I don't understand.
Is the video I have shown not clear ?
Yes, I selected the person in the gray photo, (not the colorized one), and as you can observe in the video, Faces has added a new media Object to the person Joséphine.
What is boring is that the "media object" and this is normal relative to the behavior of Media Object) is now appearing in the "photo zone"
Last and not the least, I took another picture (with only one file in the media object) and the issue is the same.
So my former statement and quest Does the issue could be linked to the fact that I have 2 files attached to the same Media Object ??
Makes no sense.
Can you confirm here that we are dealing about a Bug ?
Because this behavior has changed
Faces should add of course all linked photos in the "Faces Tab", but should not create a "media object"
I am using webtrees 2.0.7 and Faces 2.6.5 on a local server
I open a media, click on the zoom icon then try to use the mouse wheel to zoom
no zoom effect
if I deactivate Faces I open the same media, zoom using the mouse wheel to zoom
can you see if this problem exists in your area and how to fix it

Faces create only references between individuals and media object (not with photo inside media object).
On your video it's still one media object, but you object contains two photo.
Sorry, but the same issue is also appearing when there is only one file in a Media object.
Another point is that with 2.0.6 I didn't face the issue.
Can you confirm that I can revert back to 2.0.6 and faces 2.6.4 without breaking anything ?

I can't underestand what you tell :) But on video still not see any bugs.
You do not want group photo in individual's carousel?
This is default webtrees behavior for attached media.
Seems you need just disable linking in settings and create it's manually when needed or just use Faces tab for see marked photos.
Now that I'm understanding the concept of the parameters in the module Faces...
And relative to the point that I have considered inadvertently as issue, (Which is of course not the case)
I would like to reconcentrate the debate.
Sure, it is now clear for me, that :
By enabling the "Create links " feature in the Faces module
Faces module will create references between individuals and media object (and will of course not create a new object media)
Although the Media object will appear in Media's TAB..
In other words, by enabling the "Create links " feature, by selecting a individual in a Photo, this photo will be showed in WebTrees Media TAB.
This is fine, and great !
In fact, the big advantage I see here, is that by selecting the Media object, we have the ability to see all individuals linked to this Media object. :-)
However, there is a drawback with this approach here (for my point of view of course)
Let me allow to highlight this drawback and by the same a solution via a nice to have feature.
I don't know if this is the case for a lot of people using Webtrees.
I'm using the "Individual's carousel photo zone" to display the photos of the individual.
However, I'm trying to use "only" photos representing the "individual alone"
This allow to show the evolution of the person during his ages, events,..
By using the module Faces, Faces will create a new reference between individuals and media object, and the group photo will be displayed in individual's carousel zone.
This is a little drawback.
You might say, that the solution to this behavior, would be simply to disable the "Create links " feature in the Faces module
YES, but here I would lose the the ability to see all individuals linked to this Media object.
Now to the request, if possible of course, and if this might sense for other users..
Rather than to display the whole group photo in the individual's carousel zone, to display, only the selected zone of the group photo.
in other words : "The marked zone"
In this case, only the "Face" of the person would be displayed
Of course this would mean that the object media should also be shrinked to the selected zone ( = marked zone.)
BUT, of course, the "Face Tab", must show the whole group photo.
Is that technically possible ?
This "new" faces module behavior could be controlled via a parameter
Does it make sense for you UksusoFF ?
For others ?
Everything is possible. But personally for me individual's carousel should be destroyed. And show only one image.
In 1.7 version webtrees we have "main image" for person and we have only one avatar which not dependent from other media.
But wt 2.0 dropped it for more strict support GEDCOM format.
Faces module already did a lot of terrible things that didn't meet the standards GEDCOM. :)
At now if you will rely on Faces for avatar logic it's can be painful when you will want move to something other genealogy software.
So I think more good way it's create little cropped picture for person avatar, move it to upper media and forget about individual's carousel :)
Also I think colorbox on individual's page show madness gallery.
- images from carousel
- images form media tab (most duplicated from carousel)
- images from album tab (again duplicates)
- images from family (damn why I see mother, father and other peoples when open colorbox by click on individual's carousel?)
- images from events, facts and something else
This allows you to show the evolution of a person at his age, events
This is an interesting case. I think this might be another module for this. Because it needs sorting by date. Maybe someone doing this :)
I agree with you, I also find that there are too many possibilities to be able to see the image galleries.
For my part I disabled the tab "Album" for example.
On the other hand I do not really agree with the carousel.
I find that interesting, and it doesn't matter if the images don't follow a chronologically, you just have to make sure that there are only people's faces. (for the timeline, just put the images in order, Webtrees allows this through the classification of media objects)
Last point, yes you are probably right, maybe another module is needed to take into account the request to display only faces, and not the group photos.
But too bad, because I though that the faces module was near to achieve this goal.
But you are the developer, and you are the one who knows the limitations and the possibilities.
Could it make sense for you :
* either to link the media object to the person who has been marked --> "this by default creating an element in the Media Tab"
* To create a new event "Custom .." (which can later be personalized) and link the media object to this event ?
Like by default
1 EVEN Faces
2 TYPE Faces
2 OBJE @...@
This would give a lot of flexibility.
