Place not found on map - unknown was created by mike_jpr
Hi all,
I have the following strange behavior.
I haven't see some place on the google map. After some search I have found the following work around. But this will be an hudge work to modify them all manually.
So that maybe someone has an better idea.
I have 5 place hierarchy. When in a city we don't have a neighborhood/locality then is will be noted "unknown". Fine!
But in one case I delete the neighborhood "unknown" under geographic data (screen 2) for exemple here in Altheim. In that case the place will be show on the google map and under the place check the neighborhood will be show "unknown" in bold.
In the other case the neighborhood "unknown" wasn't delete under the geographic data (screen 3). Then the place will also not been show under google maps.
What I also notice is that the place check (screen 1) under the neighborhood has a different schema. The one who will be show was written in bold and translated in a local language (here in french), the second was not in bold but also only show in english.
What can I do that I can see all place on google maps without editing each city individually?
Did you have a solution?
Thx.

Hello Mike_jpr: I'm not clear on the problem.
I suggest you review the Wiki @ Google Maps
Using the 5 place hierarchy is also somewhat of a challenge. Unless you have very good reasons, you may want to limit yourself to a 4 place hierarchy until you are more familiar with the software & addon.
It may also be helpful to frame your questions in your native language. Sometimes the interpretation doesn't come out quite right. I'm sure we have someone that speaks your language.

Bonjour Mike,

Inconnu, Paris, Paris, Île-de-France, France
doit être changé pour:
Monmartre, Paris, Paris, Île-de-France, France
EDIT 2:
ou encore :
13e, Paris, Paris, Île-de-France, France

If you have a place with missing levels, e.g. "Paris, , France", then the google-maps module will display this as "Paris, Inconnu, France". This is because you need to be able to click on each level, and you cannot click on empty text.
I think it is best to avoid missing levels.
