Using a wiki or knowledge management tool in WT was created by szdavid
Hi
I am having links or data that I would like to store, even if not shared with my family ; more general :
- links to useful sites
- translation of terms I could find during my genealogy,...
Is there something like a wiki that could be included in webtrees ? Some "global" notes (that could be exported via Gedcom ? )
Thanks
David

On your home page (or private user's page) you can put HTML blocks with any content you'd like.
Some of the things you mention I have put in the FAQ. Via module administration you can create that.
No export through the Gedcom file alas....

GEDCOM (and webtrees) supports "Note records".
webtrees calls these "shared notes", but they don't have to link to any other record(s).
For notes, webtrees supports "markdown", which is the same formatting used by mediawiki / wikipedia.
Since this is GEDCOM data, it will be included in the GEDCOM files.
> even if not shared with my family
You can add a privacy restriction to the note records so that only you can see them.

I like the idea of a shared note ; but is it possible to have a direct link to a specific shared note from the home page for example ?
In that case, I will probably go to the solution proposed by bertkoor ; I will have to find how to display this in that case
Thanks

Yes - it's the same as a link to a family, individual, source, etc.
The HTML block allows you to add links to anywhere.

I read through this thead and decided to
combine FAQ and Shared Notes
for information on places. Trying to get the best of both worlds
