Dear all,

I am looking for a suggestion on how to manage my situation. I have a lot of ancestors who have different registered names on church and on civil acts (f.i. someone is called Irene when baptised and Amalia when the father registered in the municipality).

Currently I am inserting both names in the GIVN tag in order to have a complete view in the overall name (NAME tag), but I would prefer to have different tags for registering them in order to track the difference but with the view both names and the possibility to search both.

How can I manage this?

Thanks for your support
Federico

Hi fredbeard,

add a second name (via menu bar "edit" -> "add a name" ) and use the "TYPE" tag (e.g. "religious name", "birth name", ...)

BTW: with this 'feature' you are also able to use different scripts for one individual (e.g. cyrillic and latin, see image)

Greetings
