I would like to know how the statistics block works to know the date of the last update.

This family tree was last updated on September 10, 2022.

if there is data in the "Change log" of the tree this date seems to be correct.
however, if you empty the log, there is one of the modification dates but not the last one.

if I look in the gedcom file
1 CHAN
2 DATE xxxx

there are more recent dates.

The reason why I empty the log file is :
- I want to make room in my database
- I think that at this moment the modifications are known and validated.

There may be a slight problem to display this date?

Thank you for your explanations

- PHP 8.2
- MariaDB 10.5.15
- webtrees 2.1.16

This uses the latest date from the changes log.

If the changes log is empty, it uses the header record from the GEDCOM file.

thanks for this information
I understand the date indicated in this block for the last update.
if I delete the data from "Change log", I have to do an export and then an import from gedcom to get a more accurate date .

Or: enter HEAD in the top right search field. This shows the HEAD record. Then edit the date as you like it.
