I installed webtrees on a new server, and again I have double blocks because the installation was in a circle:
sonoptikon.hostingsociety.com/webtrees/

I found three places and reduced double blocks, but not on the beginning front site.

I looked all the administration menu throw and did not find the place where to change it :-)

thanks for help, I know it is very easy but I cannot see it

Perhaps there should be a simple tool: Reduce double blocks

Known problem, see e.g. www.webtrees.net/index.php/en/forum/27-h...peated-3-times#30507

Do you have your site private and the modules disabled? If so, the code in v1.3.2 will try to add these again and again.

and this bug report has a work-around in post #7
bugs.launchpad.net/webtrees/+bug/1011057

When the home page builds up, and no block is there (because they all are only visible for members) then it will add the default blocks.
So add at least one block (simple html block for instance) which is visible to everyone and it won't happen again.
stamboom.BertKoor.nl runs on webtrees v1.7.13

Ähm - I don't understand ...

I treated standard blocks in User and in Familiy Tree, so there they are not double any more, but I cannot find the menu point where to reduce my double blocks in webtrees before login.
Please just tell me how to do it.

thanks

The Administration page settings for family tree and user blocks only work for NEW users and NEW family trees.

You need to go to the Home page. At the bottom of the page click on "Change the blocks on this page" and delete the duplicate blocks.

This is all explained at wiki.webtrees.net/Configuring_front_page_blocks

Do you need a web hosting solution for your webtrees site?
If you prefer a host that specialises in webtrees, the following page lists some suppliers able to provide one for you:

yes but to fix them you need to login... you wouldn't want just anyone to be able to change your website now would you?

Well, I did just this, but I seemed not to have any influence on the way it looks like before login.
Anyway it always looks like I do it after login, but double.

Now I am trying this: (first I changed to British English, so we can better talk about it)
I took all blocks away, after this I neverthelesse have following blocks
Left: On this day - Messages - Favourites
Right: Welcome - Slide Show -Upcoming events - Who is online

When I log out I have:
Left: Statistics - News - Favourites (all of them twice)
Right: Data - Slide Show - On this day - Who is online (all twice)

Now back:
I change my blocks, now I have (after login)

Left: On this day - Statistics
Right: Upcoming events - Slide show - Who is online - messages

When I logout: see above - with duplicats, changing blocks had no influence on how it looks before login.
I changed blocks for users and for family trees, but, of course, this has no effect.

Of course I don't want anyone to change my blocks, b ut I should have the opportunity to change them myself, but how?

It sounds like you do not understand there are TWO DIFFERENT PAGES where blocks are shown.

When a visitor lands on your site they see the public HOME page, When they, or you login they get their own personal MY PAGE.

You need to remove the duplicates from the public HOME page, not your personal MY PAGE. So login, then click on HOME page in the top menu, then go to Change blocks at the bottom of that page.
