Just checking, I don't seem to find the exact answer, so sorry for asking. But, is the way to upgrade from 1.7.14 to 2.0.0 just a regular (manual) upgrade procedure? I tried to clean install, which was succesful, so now I want to upgrade my live version.

Yes, upgrading from 1.7 to 2.0 will be the same as any other upgrade. Just copy the files to the server.
As with many other upgrades, this one will modify the database structure - which means you cannot downgrade. So this will be a good time to take a backup of your database.

Thanks!
But now.... I get this error:
"Return value of Fisharebest\webtrees\Auth::id() must be of the type integer or null, string returned …/app/Auth.php:164"
Any idea?

You need to log out and log in.
Perhaps delete either (a) the cookies in your browser or (b) all the rows in the table wt_session.
