Question Display problem

I use webtrees 1.0.7 svn 10172 and when i click on Lists -> Multimedia, there is a display problem with the description of all church pictures.
French Language
as written in the title:
Église Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes de Verdun 1930 - Aujourd'hui
as displayed:
glise Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes de Verdun 1930 - Aujourd'hui
The "É" does not appear
Someone else would he have the same problem?
Thank you in advance for your precious help

Not sure if it will be related, but perhaps wait for the next nightly build then see if that fixes it?

A long time ago I had trouble where an apostrophe in a filename was causing the part before or after the apostrophe to be lost. If you created the file with (as some people used to do) an E' as a substitute for É then …

Hi wooc
I think if it's possible you can come on my web site and check for the displaying problem. I can add user for you with password. Tell me if you want to try

I replaced the character you had with a "É" and the errors you supposed disappeared and the title(s) now appear correctly. You must have had an unrecognizable character as the entry.
For proper security of your data, I would suggest you remove the user that you established, immediately.

This is one for Greg, I'm afraid, or perhaps Larry.
BTW, Larry - what happened to the ALL function if we don't wish to filter our finds? I realize that if I don't enter any terms, it should display ALL, but that is not terribly intuitive. Shouldn't we state that, or provide a tick box?

Stephen -
Nothing to do with Larry. Its been like that since SVN 7964, one of the earliest changes. I'm not sure how it can be changed without complex unnecessary code changing. Surely using "Search", with no filters set is obvious? But I do see that the Help function for "Search filters" is empty. Could you suggest some words for that, perhaps including the way to get "all"?what happened to the ALL function if we don't wish to filter our finds?

I used the media list to search for "aujourd", and it found one match. The É is displayed.
It is very hard to fix problems that you cannot reproduce.
Do you have any more clues?

Same for me. I was just trying a similar test on my site.fisharebest wrote: Works for me. I renamed one of my images to "Église Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes de Verdun 1930 - Aujourd'hui".
But I can see the problem very clearly on Normand's site. I've even tried editing a name and re-entering it, using special characters for the accented "É". The problem definitely exists only on his site - so does this indicate an encoding problem on the database?

It appears to be deleting all the leading accented characters, rather than just the first. e.g. "ÉÉglise" also becomes "glise" and "XÉglise" displays OK.
But I still can't reproduce the problem on any of my servers....
