Need help testing a new feature in 1.5.1 was created by fisharebest
Hi all,

I plan to release webtrees 1.5.1 this weekend. It contains loads of bug fixes - plus one new feature, and I'd really appreciate some help testing the new feature.

It's an automatic "one click" upgrade tool. It checks everything that you're supposed to check, fetches the .ZIP file, unpacks it and installs it. All done in under 30 seconds.

The only limitiation is that your server needs to run scripts under your user account (e.g. cgi, fcgi, etc), rather than as "www-user" or "apache" (e.g. mod_php). However, if your server isn't compatible, you'll still benefit from having the new files copied directly to a temp folder on the server - you just need to move/copy them to the webtrees folder, and your FTP client should let you do this with a single drag-n-drop.

If you can help me test this, please get in touch directly.

Thanks, Greg

Hi Chap,

I am afraid your offer is too late. Greg has already released the v.1.5.1 tonight.
