Hello all,

I'm slowly dipping my toes with an attempt at customising the "Colours" theme, but I'm having some beginner's difficulties.

My current goal is to have all the whiteness in the background space coloured in a way more akin to my non-webtrees part of my web site.

I'm almost there with this CSS
body

.wt-header-wrapper,
.wt-main-wrapper,
.wt-footers,
.card-body
{
    background-color: #edeccd;
}

But, I'm having problems with my lower corners - they remain white no matter what I attempt.

Have you any suggestions on how to achieve complete yellowness?

The background color of wt-global is still white.

You should set the background color of the .wt-global class.

Thanks, but I already tried that, and it doesn't work either, so I removed it again.

It's very odd, but I suppose it has something to do with the footer not extending to the entire screen.

On Safari, there is also some whiteness below the footer area.

Use the developer tools in the browser to examine the CSS rules.

You'll see that background is actually set with

[dir] .wt-global { ... }

The [dir] part comes from the automatic mirroring tools we use to support right-to-left languages.

Since this rule is more specific than just ".wt-global", yours won't overwrite it.

So, you need a rule that is equally or more specific.

i.e. use "[dir] .wt-global {}" instead of ".wt-global {}"

Thanks, but that doesn't work for me either, and I don't see the [dir]-part in the developer tool either.

Thanks, I'll bear that in mind. So, I can't override colors.min.css using this css:

body
[dir] .wt-global,
.wt-header-wrapper,
.wt-main-wrapper,
.wt-footers,
.card-body
{
    background-color: #edeccd;
}

This should be enough:
[dir] .wt-global,
[dir] .card-body
{
    background-color: #edeccd;
}

Tested it on my local system with the css/js module and the color theme.

Do you need a web hosting solution for your webtrees site?

That works beautifully!

Thanks a lot. That was a head-scratching exercise for me.
