For those who have missed the Fancy Research Links module in webtrees 2 I have good news!

The module is now available for webtrees 2.

The Fancy Research Links module is a sidebar module that provides quick links to approximately 40 popular research web sites.

For more information and download go to my website: justcarmen.nl/modules-webtrees-2/fancy-research-links/

or download the module directly from Github: github.com/JustCarmen/webtrees-fancy-res...inks/releases/latest

Thanks for that. It was the only reason for me to wait with the upgrade. Now I'm ready for Webtrees 2.

Thanks you for module
I'm trying to create a plugin with birthplace but it does not work with "place" while with "year" no problem. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for your help

Eric

My code :
namespace JustCarmen\Webtrees\Module\FancyResearchLinks\Plugin;

use Fisharebest\Webtrees\I18N;
use JustCarmen\Webtrees\Module\FancyResearchLinks\FancyResearchLinksModule;

class FilaePlugin extends FancyResearchLinksModule
{
	public static function pluginLabel(): string
    {
		return 'Filae.com (' . I18N::translate('€') . ')';
	}

	public static function pluginName(): string
	{
		return strtolower(basename(__FILE__, 'Plugin.php'));
	}

	public static function researchArea(): string
    {
		return 'COM';
	}

	public static function researchLink($name, $birth, $death): string
    {

		return 'https://www.filae.com/v4/genealogie/Search.mvc/SearchForm?ln=' . $name['surname'] . '&fn=' . $name['first'] . '&pn=' . $birth['place'] ;
	}
}

You haven't done anything wrong. It was a bug that has already been fixed.

I will be added to the next release. If you can't wait just download the file FancyResearchLinksModule.php and overwrite the one on your server.

Thank you the quick answer, that actually corrected the problem. By cons I have the impression that it takes only e.g. "Palos Heights" instead of e.g. "Palos Heights, Cook County, Illinois, USA" What do you think?

Yes you are correct. I changed that, because I think the former search query was too strict. But I forgot to update the examples.

Ok great this is problematic with the French genealogy site "Filae" but it does not matter your module remains perfect. Thank you for the work you bring to Webtrees.
I adapt Fancy Research Link for the French databases, I use the "$countries" parameter of FancyReSearchLinksModule.php to categorize the databases and is created about 65 plugins for France that I can put at your disposal if you wish it. You can see the example of an attachment result. :

Yes, please. However, I have to think about a way to implement them since you are using a different structure (subject based in stead of country based) than the default. But I like the way you have categorized the research links.

Would you tell me how to sort the plugin in alphabetical and / or alphanumeric order?
e.g ad01, ad02, ad03 or a, b, c, d
It function with 1.7 but not with the 2.0

I don't know. The links should be sorted in alphabetical order by default. When you sent me the files I'll look into it.

Hello Carmen, hello Eric,

@Justcarmen
Great thanks, zo veel dank for this great module, it'll help members of our webtrees website a lot !

@GeneaLogiques (Eric)
Je suis intéressé par les plugins que vous avez ajoutés. L'idée d'utiliser $country pour hierarchiser l'arborescence par thème plutôt que par pays est une idée qui me convient bien également : adoptée !

It appears plugins are ordered in alphabetical order on the plugin name not on plugin pluginLabel, i guess you'd like to order on plugin label ?
Change plugin names will do it as i did not see how to sort plugins on plugin label for each country.

Tell me how i can send you an email address if you agree to share the plugins you already realized, Mine are on ghezibde.net/genealogie ... if one helps you, just ask.
André
