I created a theme I call "modern" to optimize for a mobile and modern experience. Working well for me, feel free to check it out.

Nice work!

It would help if people could actually see your theme without having to download the code. Screenshots are helpful but a link to your own website would be nice.

Nice one!

In the readme on github you mention overriding CSS styles.
Imho users should not need to edit any of the css sources.
There already is a javascript&CSS core module for that.
If that is used, then changes don't need to be done again after any upgrade.
stamboom.BertKoor.nl runs on webtrees v1.7.13

Thanks. The link is in the original post (github.com/JesseWebDotCom/webtrees-theme-modern).

I saw that, of course, but that's not what I meant. This is the link to the Github development website. There we can see screenshots of your theme, but I was looking for a webtrees installation with your theme activated. Assuming you are using your own custom theme on your own website, just add the url to your website in your profile here so people can click on the globe icon under your name to get a better look at your theme.

Got it - no tree to share just yet. I'm in the process of consolidating /moving from Ancestry and MyHertiage. The screenshots and animated gifs on my github were taken from my webtrees dev server (no real data, not publicly exposed).

Looks nice. Appears very tidy.

I would prefer even less icons.

You don't have to use your own data for presenting the new theme. Just a separate tree with a demo GEDCOM like the Kennedys or the Royal family would be sufficient. It would attract more visitors to check it out with their own environment.

Isn’t that what I did? Or you’re saying link to a live demo with the theme? Maybe - don’t want my family stumbling onto the Kennedy tree and not know how to get back.
