_CREA - What kind of creation? was created by TheDutchJewel
In webtrees 2.1 there is a new textstring for a custom GEDCOM tag: _CREA (created at).

For the correct translation, it is important to know what kind of creation is meant here: for objects, places or something else?

• webtrees 2.0.19 (later 2.0.x versions have a different markdown implementation)
  + XAMPP 8.2.12 with PHP 7.4.33 + Rural theme + Vesta Classic L&F & Ext. Relationships + other modules
• latest webtrees 2.1.x (only for testing and presentation) + PHP 8.2.x

A record can have a creation date and a changing date. According to Gedcom, only the changing date is standard compliant (CHAN). However, some programs also store the creation date (f.i. Gen_Pluswin with _CREA).

An underscore “_” before the tag name means that it is not a standard GEDCOM tag. Therefore if it is included in webtrees it most likely comes from a program that 1) the development team knows that another program sends it in a GEDCOM load 2) probably does not own a copy of that program and therefore is not 100% sure of its meaning.

MP is probably correct in its use, but it could be something else!

Thank you both.

mp's explanation sounds logical and is sufficient for the translation.

The GEDCOM-L group has summarized some known user tags with a short description: wiki-de.genealogy.net/GEDCOM/_Nutzerdef-Tag#Tabelle
