I will need to add the definitions for Uzbek to the code.

This might take me a day or two.

When that is complete, you will be able add translations at translate.webtrees.net

Apologies. I was very busy, and forgot :-(

Will this be Latin or Cyrlllic?

Could be, it is better in Latin. Because, there is state law on the implementation of Uzbeki alphabet based on Latin script. The majority of young people use the Latin alphabet in schools and universities.

But need to consider that we use apostrophe (') U+02BC, MODIFIER LETTER APOSTROPHE for glottal stop.

U+02BB, MODIFIER LETTER TURNED COMMA is for (G', g' and O', o') letters.

I have added Uzbek.

You can update translations at translate.webtrees.net/projects/webtrees/webtrees-22/uz/
(To login, you will require a github.com account)

There are two systems for translating the names of relationships.

Old system: translate from english relationship names to other languages

New system: each language has its own definitions and relationship names.

I want you to use the new system. We will need to work together for this.

This means you can ignore all the translations from app/Services/RelationshipService.php (approximately 1000).

So, what to do after having translation? How can I add the translated new language into language module? At present, I am translating step by step. For reviewing the results I need to set the translated file.
By the way, I use 2.1.16 version in my localhost.

You can download a .po file from the translation server. Copy it to your server. /resources/lang/uk/

The target folder should be /resources/lang/uz/ for Uzbek, not ./uk/ which is for Ukrainian.

I created a uz folder in /resources/lang. But, there was messages.php in language folders per country. I did not see any .po file there. Anyway I uploaded into uz folder my downloaded file and renamed it as messages.po

But there is no any changes.

Install the file message.po

Delete the file messages.php

webtrees will create a new .php file from the .po file.

I did as you said, renamed .po file as messages.po, but no changes. messages.po file remains as original condition.

If webtrees cannot write this file, then it is possible that you need to update the file permissions on the folder resources/lang/uz

webtrees looks for messages.php

if it does not exist, then webtrees will read messages.po and write messages.php

> to the uz folder is 0755

Try changing this to 0777

You could try converting the .po file at localise.biz/free/converter/po-to-php
webtrees 2.1.16 patched at visitusinmaputo.com/webtree PHP 8.1.13
webtrees 2.1 dev on local WampServer PHP 8.2.0 MySQL 8.0.31
