An option to display my full family tree top to bottom, like an actual family 'tree', not from right to left, would be really appreciated.
I'm using the interactive tree on both the Family tree page as on the default individual 'My page'. In this way (older) users who login in my website have all the info under their fingertips!

How you'd draw it yourself. Generations arranged vertically, oldest on top instead of on the right.
Sibblings arranged horizontally, next to each other, oldest child on the left.

The downside of that orientation is that putting sibbling names next to each other takes an awful lot of space. I like the current compact solution.

Thanks for your feedback!
I was used to this vertical view to scroll around in a pdf, as it is most intuitive, the children are always below the parents.
In the attached image, I have to admit that space is not used optimal so further optimization could be done.
I do have to agree that a horizontal view is most space efficient.
