I am going to donate a new webtrees report module displaying (or just generating a file of) the full vertical tree for print. It could be based i.e. on "interactive tree", but should
- expand all ancestors and descendants of everyone in database
- display more details by persons and families (place of born/death, wedding summary, comments) in a smart way (aligned although some data are not filled)
- allow definable print/export size/dpi (huge formats expected)
- prevent duplicity (i.e. by more partners in families, marriages of relatives)

Is somebody able to implement it?
Thank you in advance.

Hi,

I am not able to write it. Just one comment:

It seems to be a niceidea. But did you ever think about the amount of CPU, time and (data/file) space this would need? This would grow exponentially with the number of individuals. In my database I have more than 93.000 persons !
Regards
Helmut

It should be a report that is not for daily work but for execution one time per years. Nevertheless it can count necessary place on storage or has some custom limits. Also it can store data localy or be a separate application installed on local machine connected to webtrees database. I guess that computer performance is not problem at this modern age.

Why do you not use a separate locally installed program?

It is complicated too.
1) find some sw that provides huge reports displaying such informations
2) import correctly all data from webtrees including images, shared comments, etc.

When you said you wanted to donate, I thought you had the code finished :-)

2. Should not be a problem IF the software is compliant to the gedcom standards. Most programs are, but in a variable degree. webtrees is quite good at this.

1. Such reports have shown to be quite impractical in trees that exceed non-trivial ones. Too much information, requiring more than 2 dimensions...

Good luck...
stamboom.BertKoor.nl runs on webtrees v1.7.9

A very powerful program could be Stammbaumdrucker.

Stammbaumdrucker seems to be very good! It really generated full tree. I am afraid many relations were lost by GEDCOM import and also all media information. I will try it more times.
Thank you.

Anyway I would pay for such possibility in WebTrees.
