Managing Media uploads from members was created by Rheydter
Hi, members like to upload media files but they often don´t choose the correct directory. I would like to force them to upload the files into a specific directory, so that afterwords i can move media into the correct directory. What do you think about my suggestion?

You asked for an opinion. I think your users are completely right.

Where exactly media files are stored is not relevant to them. They dump it in the container, and that's OK. There should be no further burden.
For webtrees the location within the media folder is not relevant as well. When serving pages it fetches the media files from that container as well.

So that leaves one stakeholder, and that is the one accessing the media folder not through webtrees. I don't know your motivations to do so.
Perhaps it should not be relevant to you as well.

Note that this is a similar discussion as with file names. These can be random & unique without anyone noticing or caring.

stamboom.BertKoor.nl runs on webtrees v1.7.13
