I have sometimes the need to make some notices related to a tree. It would be great to have a notice field in the Control panel / Manage family trees / Family tree, maybe just before the option "Default family tree".
With markdown, it would be possible to notice major ToDo's, security topics, or specalities for this tree. I would not expect to export this notice using GEDCOM, it is more like a story related to a tree instead of related to a person.

Where would this notice be displayed? On every page?

For things like that I added a "Journal" block to "my" page. Similar but public is the "News" block on Home.
stamboom.BertKoor.nl runs on webtrees v1.7.13

No, my idea was that this note is only visible for admins, so only accessible/viewable/editable in the control panel.

But now I'm thinking about that again (and noticing the comment of @bertkoor): could I make an HTML block related to a tree visible only for admins and show it on the home page of that tree? I would not like to use the my-page, because the note should be related to the tree (documenting for example the way how I had produced that special tree).

Hello Hermann,

the note field in the header of each family tree might be the right place to document tree-specific information. You can reach the header by entering "head" in the search field.

Ok,Peter. But that solution is not perfect.

HEAD is related to the tree. ok. HEAD:NOTE is supporting markdown. ok. But HEAD is visible to visitors, ie. everybody. I would prefer something that is only visible to logged-in user with admin rights.

If the privacy restriction for records were extended to the rest of records (including header), this could be the solution.

Are there more admins besides you? Otherwise I don't see why you shouldn't make those notes on your 'mypage'. I do that too. I use the 'mypage' to make all kinds of notes regarding to my tree and my investigation. Sometimes I use the journal, sometimes a html block, depending on the purpose. But I am the only admin on my site...

I'm the only admin at my site, too. So I will follow the suggestions of bertkoor and JustCarmen and document my notes to trees on the My-Page. I say "Thank you" to everybody for your ideas!
