When adding a wife to an existing person, the form that comes up has two name fields, one for birth name and one for married name. That is ok but it should be possible to delete the subsection for married name because earlier in Sweden (before around 1870) the wife did not change name. It has also become common nowadays.

Husbands up to recently almost never changed name but now it is fairly often that a husband changes the name. Thus the addition of a husband should have an easy way to add a married name.

I don’t see this behavior in the demo database for webtrees 2.1, see image.

I don’t see this behavior in the demo database for webtrees 2.1

Probably because of the configured surname tradition in the control panel...

When I started out I had that set to "paternal — Children take their father’s surname. Wives take their husband’s surname."
Later I grew to regret that, changed it to "patrilineal — Children take their father’s surname." and removed most married names.
stamboom.BertKoor.nl runs on webtrees v1.7.13
