Did you follow all the upgrade instructions?

e.g. did you add the extra line to data/config.ini.php ?

> the program do not start

Can you give more details?
If you post the URL of your site, we might be able to work out what is wrong.

I did not put in an extra line, because I did not think it was necessary because I have none that are using my page. My website is here: www.grasdal.com/webtrees

I wonder if I should delete all files in the existing folder webtrees, but not tha data folder? Or should I copy all over the existing files? I use Filezilla for transferring files.

I found the logfile. It was very big, and old, so I deleted that, and tried to start webtrees once more to get a new one.
Here is the new logh file:

This error almost certainly indicates that you did not copy all the webtrees files to the server.

But when I coopied, there were errors, and some files were not possible to copy. Therefore I should like to delete all files in the folder at server, but not the data folder. Is that a good way?

Yes - this is a good solution.

But make sure you do not delete any files that *you* added. For example, media files.

By default, webtrees stores media files in /data/media.

But in webtrees 1.x, you can configure it to store media anywhere. Some people used /media

Should I transfer the 2 files in the new datafolder to the server?

Now I have tried as I suggest, to transfer all files to an emty webtrees folder. There is really a problem still. More tha 30 files in the folders Vendor and resources are impossibble to transfer. This is rather a problem, when files cannot be transferred to an empty folder!

I am now working with the serverprograms, to see if there is something that stops the transferring ........ will be back here later .....

I guess you mean index.php and .htaccess.

These files are the same, and we overwrite them on every upgrade.

So, it is harmless to overwrite them.

OK - Tell us how you get on.

Thankyou very much for all your help! The reason for my problems was that there was an earlier database, so I had to remove that. I also now found that webtrees is in Softacoulus, and used that.
But I had to start from beginning, and lost my work. So now I will start from beginning, no problems. But before I start to import my gedcom again, I should like to get rid of the smaller problems with pHp and zip that the message tells me about.

The version of PHP on your server is incomplete.
It is missing several components.

Only the server's administrator can install them. Is this your server?

My server contact tells me that there are all components in pHp, and all other databases are correct, only webtrees has problems. He is now searching at web to try to find the solutions for this problem.

This case seems strange to us! We have now installed webtrees in different folders at the same server, always with the same result. Other programs get gedcom , zip and everything all right, not webtrees.

Now this case is solved! :-) There were some extra switches at the server that had to be "on", so now this is very good. But I have to import my mediafiles also, and no photos were imorted together in the gedcomfile. Any tips?
