Hi,
I'm trying to clean mys places and remove bad entries (of an 1.7.17 install)
When I go to Control panel > Module administration > Google Maps > Geographic data, and ask "inactive places", I see these inactive places. But some can be removed (ie here b"bouloire", delete button is active) but some not (delete button inactive).
How can I clean all these bad entries ?
Thank you for help.

An a more general question. Is there a way to clean all datas long/lat of a tree to have a clean base ?

You can only delete the lowest level. Click on the name in the first column and drill deeper into the hierarchy until you arrive at a name where the red x appears.

If the delete button is inactive, then either:

1) the place is used.
2) the place is unused, but has lower-level places that must be deleted first.

In webtrees 2.0, it is a little simpler.

If a place is usused, then you can delete it (and all the unused lower-level places) with one click.

You can export your location data to a .CSV file.

When you import the CSV file, there is an option to delete all existing data, and only import data for locations that exist.

Same problem.
It looks like « Delete all existing geographic data before importing the file » is blocking import process.

I have tried with only "Do not create new locations, just import co-ordinates for existing locations." and no difference. I also tried to install the csv file in "modules_v3/googlemap/extra" . Idem.

In 1.7, you must also "Import place names from family tree".

Otherwise, there are no places in the gazetteer, and no co-ordinates will be imported.

(In 2.0, this is all automatic).
