While trying out the 2.0.1. version something unexpected happened. I added 2 other administrators to my site to help out, test settings etc. and when I set up email and requested a new user account all of us got the user request email from the site. I have the same settings on v1.7 and this does not happen. Am I missing a setting or is this the way it's designed?

This was an intentional change.

In 1.7, registration emails were sent to the genealogy contact for the tree.

There are two problems with this.

1) the genealogy contact is not necessarily an admin - and therefore cannot approve the account.
2) when all trees are private, it is impossible to register.

To solve these problems in 2.0, registration emails are now sent to administrators.

In 1.7 my registration emails are not sent to the "Genealogy contact" but to the "Technical help contact" who is an administrator.

You are probably correct.

I was working from memory, and haven't looked at that code for some time.

Can that be changed to the webmaster or perhaps an assigned administrator?

If the genealogy administrator (not the website administrator) can approve the users of this genealogy, this will perfectly solve the above problems.
