Hi All,
I'm getting HTTP ERROR 500 after upgrading from Version 1.7.6 to 2.0.3. Installation is Raspberry Pi3B with Buster, Apache2, PHP7.3 and MariaDB

1. Apache Error Log shows:
[Thu Mar 26 13:54:07.451941 2020] [proxy_fcgi:error] [pid 17075] [client 192.168.178.28:51530] AH01071: Got error 'PHP message: PHP Fatal error: Uncaught ErrorException: syntax error, unexpected $end, expecting TC_DOLLAR_CURLY or TC_QUOTED_STRING or '"' in /var/www/html/webtrees/app/../data/config.ini.php on line 9\n in /var/www/html/webtrees/app/Http/Middleware/ReadConfigIni.php:58\nStack trace:\n#0 [internal function]: Fisharebest\\Webtrees\\Webtrees::Fisharebest\\Webtrees\\{closure}(2, 'syntax error, u...', '/var/www/html/w...', 58, Array)\n#1 /var/www/html/webtrees/app/Http/Middleware/ReadConfigIni.php(58): parse_ini_file('/var/www/html/w...')\n#2 /var/www/html/webtrees/vendor/oscarotero/middleland/src/Dispatcher.php(136): Fisharebest\\Webtrees\\Http\\Middleware\\ReadConfigIni->process(Object(Nyholm\\Psr7\\ServerRequest), Object(Middleland\\Dispatcher))\n#3 /var/www/html/webtrees/app/Http/Middleware/SecurityHeaders.php(47): Middleland\\Dispatcher->handle(Object(Nyholm\\Psr7\\ServerRequest))\n#4 /var/www/html/webtrees/vendor/oscarotero/middleland/src/Dispatcher.php(136): Fisharebest\\Webtrees\\Http\\Middleware\\SecurityHeaders->pr...'

I have checked the Following:

2. User-ID and permission of /data
apachectl -S
AH00558: apache2: Could not reliably determine the server's fully qualified domain name, using 127.0.1.1. Set the 'ServerName' directive globally to suppress this message
VirtualHost configuration:
*:80 127.0.1.1 (/etc/apache2/sites-enabled/000-default.conf:1)
ServerRoot: "/etc/apache2"
Main DocumentRoot: "/var/www/html"
Main ErrorLog: "/var/log/apache2/error.log"
Mutex mpm-accept: using_defaults
Mutex watchdog-callback: using_defaults
Mutex proxy: using_defaults
Mutex default: dir="/var/run/apache2/" mechanism=default
PidFile: "/var/run/apache2/apache2.pid"
Define: DUMP_VHOSTS
Define: DUMP_RUN_CFG
User: name="www-data" id=33 not_used
Group: name="www-data" id=33 not_used

3. Owner of folder /data is pi:www-data, permissions are user and groud for read, write and execute

4. Memory consumption is:
[email protected]:~ $ free -h
total used free shared buff/cache available
Mem: 873Mi 395Mi 51Mi 87Mi 426Mi 327Mi
Swap: 1,7Gi 106Mi 1,6Gi

Does anyone have an idea what else I can check?

All help is really appreciated

Best regards

Peter

Check the contents of the file data/config.ini.php

It should look like this: webtrees.net/faq/config-ini-php/

The error message says you have something unexpected on line 9 of this file.

Thanks fisharebest,

you pointed me to the right direction.

I made a typo by adding my URL as requested by the document "Differences in 2.0"

base_url="www.example.com/webtrees"

Deleting the line made it work again!!!

Since I do not own a web address, could I insert base_ult="https://192.168.x.x/webtress" or should I ignore?

Thanks and best regards

Peter

Yes you should.

webtrees cannot always detect the URL correctly.
