I have recently installed and configured webtrees, and everything seems to be working fine, except I get "500" in pink boxes instead of thumbnails when I try to add profile pictures to people.
I found webtrees.net/faq/thumbnails/ and it seems to be on point.

Below is the information from the server information page regarding imagick. Apologies I can't get it to stay as a table.
The issue I believe appears to be "ImageMagick number of supported formats: 0" and lack of "entry ImageMagick supported formats that includes both JPEG and PNG"

I am struggling to find anything online to help me configure this to support the relevant files. the best I could find was
stackoverflow.com/questions/32764011/ima...-has-showing-value-0

Suggesting
"This is a common problem when you have downloaded a version of Imagick that was compiled against a different version of ImageMagick than the one you are trying to run it with"

And indeed, looking below I see
Imagick compiled with ImageMagick version ImageMagick 7.0.9-2 Q16 x86_64 2019-11-22 imagemagick.org
Imagick using ImageMagick library version ImageMagick 7.0.9-7 Q16 x86_64 2019-12-03 imagemagick.org

Would this indeed be the issue, and if so, how would I fix it?

Thank you in advance

I often see this after a PHP upgrade.

The fix is usually to uninstall and re-install both the imagemagick library and the php-imagick module.

Thank you, I will try to do that.
I'm not sure how, I'm using the "letsencrypt" docker, because it's sort of meant to have everything bundled together. But that gives me a jumping off point, thank you

Sorry,
Problem unsolved.
Images now show up as thumbnails.
Clicking on thumbnails brings up a bigger box, but there is no image in it, just blank.
What could be the cause there?
