Each tree has its own home page.
Use user has its own home page.

(Both look similar, so it is easy to confuse them).

You have added the HTML block to your own user page. Only you can see this page.

You should add it to the tree's home page instead. All visitors will see this page when they arrive at your site.

1) visit the home page (Select the tree from the "Family tree" menu).
2) now use the "customize this page" menu option to add/edit an HTML block.

This is correct.

Sorry, I assumed you already found this link!

At the top of the page "My pages -> Customise this page".

That's your personal page, as the title implies (and Greg pointed out). It's only visible to you.

You have to configure the blocks for the tree's home page. The title of the respective page is "Change the ‘Home page’ blocks". You have to navigate to the tree's home page first by selecting the tree (or by using this url directly). Then, use the menu entry 'Customize this page'. This menu entry is relative to the page currently shown.

Greg: It would probably less confusing if it would show up as 'customize the home page of <tree name> ' in this case, and as 'customize my personal page' otherwise. (We could even show both entries on the tree's page to point out that there are two different customizations available)

Again: You have to navigate to the tree's home page first by selecting the tree (or by using this url directly). See the circled link in the screenshot.

Do not navigate to 'My Page'.
