How do I create a clickable link to an external website?
I found a website which contains important information about a person in my tree and would like to make a connection to that website. I tried several things, but the link still is not clickable.

Best regards,
Guido

Are you sure?
www.wezijnallemaalfamilie.nl/index.php?r...Wilhelmus-Singerling has a URL in a note, but it isn't clickable.

Do you enable markdown?

With markdown, you create links like this:
<http://www.example.com>

[link text](http://www.example.com)

If you do not use markdown, then webtrees will just convert URLs.

No, I am not familiar with markdown. Maybe I'll try it.
In my gedcom I only have a line

I have just tried adding a new note in my tree containing nothing but a URL - it isn't clickable. Here's an extract from the page source:
<div class="markdown" dir="auto">
<p>http://www.google.com</p>
</div>

You have probably enabled markdown in the tree preferences. (I think it is the default).

In markdown, you must create links explicitly. There are two ways to do it - with and without link text. See my examples.

If you disable markdown, then webtrees uses its traditional (i.e. since phpGedView) behaviour, which is to convert URLs into links.
