hide secondary notes about death was created by mariannevanharten
I have a person in my tree who died 18 years ago.
I don't want to publish the cause of death and the address where he died (his wife still resides there). I want to publisch only the date and place of his death.
How can I hide these details? I tried it in the raw gedcom, without success.

Best regards,
Guido

I have never tried this, but just from my knowledge of the GEDCOM standard.

The restriction tag RESN is allowed on top level records and on events/facts. It cannot be placed on the children of the event.

You can get around this, satisfactory or not, by making two DEAT events, one public and one private. Multiple DEAT events is ok by the standard, although the common use case is conflicting data in different sources. Extending it to this use case may confuse some readers or other software.
