I am figuring out why only one marriage is shown.
Berend Gorter married twice. Only his first marriage is shown for users who aren't signed in. You can find his second wife here .

What is the best way to give more information? To provide the gedcom-parts of the persons and their marriages?

Is there a child still alive or otherwise private?

When a child of the family is not public, that makes the whole family private. So marriage details don't show up.

Maybe in control panel under privacy this can be tweaked. Otherwise you can add "RESN none" (no restriction) to the event or family to force it to be public.

I understand that it works like this, but in my opinion this operation does not make any sense.
I see no sense in cascading something private.

ps. the google translation doesn't seem to be good but i don't know how to improve.

I agree, I don't see the logic of a living child causing the whole family record of deceised parents to become private, but it seems this is happening anyway.
NB: the translation is good enough to clearly understand what you mean ;-)

Certain bits of information can be derived from dead parents of living children that can then be used to identify the children.

I think that instead of transmitting privacy, the right thing would be to let the user manage this permission, placing restrictions on this data, people or families if deemed necessary ...
I don't think it should spread on its own.

Hello,
Interesting topic.
The present privacy system suits me ... and is GRPD compliant !
Managing exception with RESN to a family record ? record by record ?
why not, but only to be able to show hidden records rather than to hide !

With many members and lots of updates every day ... i'd have to spend my days deciding who has to be shown and who has to be hidden.
Members are getting more and more confident if they know / see privacy rules are respected, homogeneous and RGPD compliant

Yes you can...
but how the family was hidden without the user taking notice. He only discovers that it is not visible if he accesses without being logged in or when someone notices and reports ...
I think that just as there is an option to let people live as visible or private, there should also be an option if you want to extend this or not ...

Guido: what is your setting for the privacy option "Show private relationships" in your tree? When you set this to "show to visitors" than I suspect that the family with the second partner will be shown. Private persons will only be shown with an empty box titled "private"

Setting
2 RESN none
onto the marriage didn't help me.

You need to add a restriction to the *FAMILY*, not to the marriage.

1 RESN

Can I do this in webtrees? I try to find the option to edit the raw gedcom for the FAM, but I can't find it.

You do not need to edit the GEDCOM.

On the family page - add fact/event - Restriction

If you don't see this, look in the control panel for the family events and add it there.

At this moment, a visitors can see in the family navigator the family of the person and his 2nd wife, but in the main screen the marriage isn't shown.

I don't see the add fact/event function on the family page nor the settings for the family events in the control panel. I tried it while I set my language interface to English, so words should look like your message, isn't it?
