I recently upgraded from 1.7 to 2.0.14.
I have individuals with more than 1 image attached, but I only want a portrait as primary image.
Sometimes there is no portrait available, in that case I do not want to show any primary image.
See for example:
drxn.nl/webtrees/index.php?route=%2Fwebt...sephus-van-Kortenhof

In webtrees 1.7 there was a possibility to mark any image as primary or not.
In webtrees 2.0 always the first is shown as primary image.

Is it possible to tell webtrees 2.0 not to use any image as primary and keep the thumbnail empty ?

You can add photos to an individual or to a fact/event. (Or to a source citatation).

webtrees will use the first *individual* photo as the thumbnail.

These photos appear to be connected with the "Occupation" event.
Perhaps they should be linked there, instead?

There is a tool in the control panel to help with moving these images from the individual to the event.

How to set NONE of the images of an individual as primary 1 week 1 day ago #3

Hi. I'm struggling with same issue. I'm using Faces to add group photos. I tag individuals and then module creates link to person and place file on multimedia list of each individual. But it is automatically set as person portrait photo! Is there possibility to have multimedia files that are associated with person (not with event or source) but are not displayed as portrait photo?

If all I have is a group photo, then I always create individual small individual portraits from them by cutting out their faces.
It's worth the trouble imho.

Sometimes quality of group photo is that bad, that making portrait from it make no sense.
It's bad that I can't attach single multimedia file that won't be add as portrait. In many cases I've got some documents about indyviduals and I don't want to create event or source - I would like to have it as single file on Multimedia list.

Create a media object containing just a "sihouette" image.
Make it public (1 RESN none).

Add it to these individuals, and move it to top of the list.
It will now be used as the "profile image".
