I have a question about the "Geographic Data". I have subsequently created hierarchies for places outside Germany, for this I have renamed the places with "Data Fixes".
I deleted the previous places for which no events are recorded anymore.
Today I see that these locations are listed again under "Geographic Data", either with "0" events or without events, see screenshot.
Should I delete the locations again?
Kind regards

Again I tried to delete a place from the Geographic Data screen, a new place is born. I tried to delete it in the places table, a new place is born.

I am sure the places concept in webtrees is a goog thing,

but I do not understand it.

Are your custom modules up-to-date? This sounds a bit like this issue . Do you have a top-level location/shared place that contains this place name?

The FAQ is not helpful.
I do not use "Shared Places".

I had the same or at least a similar issue with I believe webtrees 2.0.11. Locations I had deleted immediately showed up again although they didn’t exist in any of my trees any more. So I thought they might have been cached and in deed they existed in another wt* place or location table. Can’t remember the table name and don’t have access to my database right now. Manual deletion of these records was rather tricky and it was a one time issue so I didn’t report it here.
Better create a database backup before manually deleting records.
Peter
