By “Special Characters” are you referring to letters a symbols not on your keyboard such as a different alphabet?

This thread contains some possible answers to this question Most operating systems (Windows 10 and iOS) provide an alternate keyboard option which this thread explains. You may need to read the entire thread to find your answer.

If this is not what you mean by your question please explain more.

yes, use to be a box that you clicked on and you could add a special character. it's not there anymore.

As indicated in the linked thread, use the OS or browser supplied extension. This will carry more possible characters than a webtrees supplied “box”. It is my feeling that webtrees would forever be chasing “missing” characters while the OS supplied extension would have far more possibilities.

I can accessed special characters by doing a Search, but how do you apply to a baptism record?

I noticed that you had a previous thread that asked about supercase letters.

I don’t know how you would enter them on a MAC but in Widows they are entered using the “ALT Code” sequence.

To learn about supercase letters look here .
