After login in as administrator in webtrees version 2.0.13 i get the following message at the top of page
Error "GuzzleHttp requires cURL, the allow_url_fopen ini setting, or a custom HTTP handler."

Also there is no access to any of the admin tasks.

When i select control panel i receive a page of errors.
Refer to attached image.

I had a previous version 1.7 of Webtrees that was working.
I then updated to version 2.0.16 just now and once i discovered these errors i tried to reinstate the older backup copy. but could only reinstate version 2.0.13. After checking my server there is no previous backups of version 1.7 available.

I am lost and any help would be greatly appreciated.

webtrees checks for updates by requesting the file dev.webtrees.net/build/latest-version.txt

There are several PHP functions available to request remote files like this.

You server has blocked all of them.

Is this your own server?

You can disable the daily check for updates using the following SQL statement.

It will tell webtrees that the most recent check was one year in the future, and so it will not check for another year.
REPLACE INTO wt_site_setting (setting_name, setting_value)
VALUES ('LATEST_WT_VERSION_TIMESTAMP', UNIX_TIMESTAMP(DATE_ADD(NOW(), INTERVAL 1 YEAR)));
