With every new webtrees version I hope that the problem with the overwritten text in PDF files has been solved. The text is also overwritten in the new webtrees‑2.1.0-alpha.2.

Was this ever reported as an issue on Github?
If not, then it will be a long wait for sure.

I think most of the problems with pdf reports were closed and "transfered" to the issue

I hope that after releasing 2.1 the report engine will be rewritten.

Yesterday I created a new topic under Open discussion: PDF reports.
My implementation is hopefully better on truncation of long names but it is difficult to know many characters to allow when the field width is measured in points. Characters have various widths (i,l are very tiny whereas m and w are wide)!
You may have a look on my examples, and try my demo tree.

It's OK and better with this solution !
