Hi,
finally I took the step and rented some webspace to install webtrees. After some stumbling I got to the point to run the setup wizard. I came to the point where you setup the admin account, but clicking onto "continue" the following message appears:

I'm guessing you have run "half" the setup, and have half a database.

Delete all the tables from the database, and try again.

a quick (and dirty) fix is to choose a different table prefix in setup and to delete the wrong tables later

sorry, wrong language - unfortunately I don't know how to reach the database or delete its content.

You can write your message in whatever language you like on this forum. There are many Germans here who can help you in your own language and everybody else know how to use Google Translate, Deepl etc.

When you rented web space from your provider you had login information to access the database. If you don't know how to delete the database to start over with the installation then I think it's best to ask your provider for help. Or else follow Warius' suggestion and choose a prefix other than 'wt' at setup.

Hi,
thank you for all your support.
I used the quick fix, Warius recommended. It worked.
And I asked my provider (servmania.de) how to delete the broken tables. They normally answer very quick.

Do you need a web hosting solution for your webtrees site?

The webhoster offers a phpMyAdmin-access where I could delete the unfinished database-tables. So everything is clean again.

I think the mistake was my impatience. It takes a moment to set up the administrator access. I didn't see that the program was still working and clicked "continue" one more time. I guess the database setup couldn't handle that. If that was really the reason, maybe it would be a good idea add a hint that it takes some time or the script should somehow react to the first click or just ignore the 2nd click.

Just to be correct: The provider is ServMedia.de and the (excellent) support is provided by servmania.de .
