after spending an hour or so without success here my question which was probably asked before

webtrees 1.7 supported a batch-job which added missing marriage name to woman
In 2.1 iI cant find this module anymore.Did I overlook something ?

It was removed.

Historically, women tended to take rheir husband's surname.

More recently, that is not the case.

Applying this change to an entire database will almost certainly introduce errors.

I think the tool would be still beneficial if it gets limited to persons born before a to be defined year like for example 1900.
or even better if the marriage date is defined than use the date of marriage as criteria

But it is not only a thing of the date of marriage. It also depends on the culture. For example, in Indonesia people do not use a "family name" at all. In my family (Germany and Austria) the wife used an inflected family name until about 150 years ago (Maria Hartenthalerin was the wife of Josef Hartenthaler). So be careful with any automated changes. It will result in more errors in your tree. Use the sources and nothing else, please.

Der Ehename (und der Nachname der Kinder) ist aber in Deutschland (ex BRD) im BGB gesetzlich geregelt, so dass eine allgemeine Ersetzung/Ergänzung zumindest für einen ausgewählten Zeitraum (oder eine ausgewählte Gruppe) möglich sein sollte. Das könnte dann immer noch sinnvoller sein, als keinen solchen einzutragen.

Im gedcom fehlt nach meiner Meinung die Möglichkeit den Zeitraum für die Gültigkeit eines Namens einzugeben.

Damit könnte einiges vereinfacht werden.

Also the 'change all' button could be suppressed. Then you would have a chance to check every sinlge record before changing it automatically.
I was missing that feature, too, but meanwhile I have added all mariage names where applicable.
