Hi,
(tried first to retrieve any message on the forum relating to that specific error -- no one seen)

1/- chose automatic migration ;
2/- zipfile correctly charged on server (albeit I did'nt saw where it has been put ;
3/- I got this message :
#0 /vendor/pclzip/pclzip/pclzip.lib.php:1797 ErrorException("A non-numeric value encountered")

4/- ftp'loaded the file (from 1.7.4 version ) from my server location (hosteur.com) ;
- read the lines around 1797 to try anderstanding what to do ;
- no way for me to see what to do :(

btw I put PHP 8.0 on my dataspace (on server location)

any help ?

First, you must upgrade to webtrees 1.7.20
This requires PHP 5.3 - 7.3
Can you temporarily downgrade to PHP 7.3?

Then upgrade manually to webtrees 1.7.20
Visit the site to ensure the upgrade scripts run.

Then upgrade to PHP 8.*

Then upgrade to webtrees 2.1.6

I'll try it now.

sorry for my "ok I'll try. Wanted to tell I changed PHP 8.0 to 7.3

Just copied zipfile 1.7.20
and unzipped it and
put all the files on my server / directory webtrees via ftp (a lot ~ 7524 files)

Tomorrow I'll continue that migration for 1.7.20 to 2.1.6. if all is ok (-> PHP 8.0 etc.)

I'll come back here for a short report.

It seems me odd that reference to pclzip.lib.php, since this file is nos present among my decompressed 1.7.20 files (but present in the directory of my server (www.clercin.eu/webtrees/vendor/pclzip/ with a date of 2020-11-15 ;

any help ?

No, I put php at 7.3 before....

PHP Version 7.3.33-8+0~20221028.101+debian10~1.gbpb248c7

before going to 2.1.6 you must update php to 8.*

Thanks ; I remember that. But presently the problem is first migrating from 1.7.3 to 1.7.20 with php 7.3 before 2.1.6 and PHP 8.0 ...

What did you try?

You need to select PHP 7.3 and also upgrade manually to 1.7.20

Check your site is still working.

Then you can complete the upgrade:

1) update config.ini.php
2) select PHP 8
3) manually ugprade to 2.1.6

After having met recurrent problems that had nothing to do with webtrees, Il solved myself ;)
As you recommended :

1/- From 1.7.4 -> 1.7.20 (manually and with php put to 7.3)
2/- then from 1.7.20 -> 2.1.6 (manually and with php put to 8.0).

My webtrees pages are operational again with 2.1.6.

Lesson learned : be quiet ; read the docs ; follow your expert advices.

Fine! Now you should be able to do an automatic upgrade from 2.1.6 to the actual 2.1.16.
