Why the Date field is doubled? was created by Jackie
Hi,

I don't know if this is a bug.. I checked bug reports but could'nt find anything. I tested on the Demo here and it seems to be the same behaviour.
I wanted to correct the information of _MILT and the GUI shows two DATE fields. Why? Which one should I use to enter the date?

If you are editing an existing event, what is the raw GEDCOM data? Perhaps you have two DATE fields there with no data?

Hi Nigel,

No, two DATE fields

I had the same behaviour on the Demo here after adding _MILT fact.

svn.webtrees.net/demo-stable/individual.php?pid=i17&ged=demo

EDIT : Nigel, I can't give you the GEDCOM info that I had because I corrected the data since I posted. I decided to select the first date field to enter the date.

OK, I can reproduce it now. It only happens if you first enter the event (_MILT) with no date at all. It actually then adds two different types of date fields to the edit window, one with an id of "_MILT_DATE_tr" and the other "DATE794759_tr".

This is a clear bug. Please report it.

EDIT: the same bug applies to the alternate tag "_MILI".
