Hi,

I thought I knew about « Access and Privacy » but it seems that I can't set my family tree in order to hide media items linked to a SOUR to visitors. Would someone be so kind to explain again?

EDIT : my actual settings :

SOUR -> show to members
tab Media -> show to admin (only me)
tab Album -> show to members

What else should I set to hide to visitors documents attached to a SOUR?

If you add a media object to a citation, then the link is from the INDI to the OBJE, (not the SOUR to the OBJE).

So when we calculate the privacy of the OBJE, we hide it if it is linked to any private record. Since it is linked to the INDI, not the SOUR, it is the privacy of the INDI that is significant....

If the OBJE is only linked to citations on public records, it will be public.

Don't forget you can add RESN tags to OBJE (or indeed any other fact/record). A RESN tag takes precedence over every other rule.

Thank you for your answer Greg. Yes I know about RESN tags. I though the OBJE link was to the SOUR. But now, I understand. All is fine. :-)
