I am trying to enter a date of birth BC so for example Julius Caesar I want to add as 100 BC help seems to suggest format should be @#DJULIAN@ 44 B.C.

If I put @#DJULIAN@ 44 B.C. in I get nothing at all and if I put in @#DJULIAN@ 100 B.C. I get AD 100

Can anyone help me ?

I just added this data to the demo site.

dev.webtrees.net/demo-stable/individual.php?pid=i254&ged=demo

I see his date of birth OK.

What do you mean by "nothing at all" ?

I get a completely blank line where I would expect to see the date on a tree

I get a completely blank line where I would expect to see the date on a chart

I have made my page open so you can look

Very new at webtrees so not added any users yet so not sure how to let you edit something

I am on 1.4.6 as later versions would not install on my server - maybe thats the difference

> not sure how to let you edit something

Create a new account (control panel -> users)

Tick the "approved by admin" box.
Grant it edit access to the tree.

Check you can login with the username/password, and then email it to me (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.)

You're using webtrees 1.4.6 - presumably because your webhost only provides PHP5.2

It looks like a bug in that version of webtrees. It works in 1.5.0 and later.

I'm afraid you'll need to upgrade your server. Many web-hosts allow you to select different versions of PHP using a control panel or a config file.

FYI, PHP5.2 (and 5.3 and 5.4) are obsolete, and shouldn't be used any more. See php.net/supported-versions.php

Do you need a web hosting solution for your webtrees site?
If you prefer a host that specialises in webtrees, the following page lists some suppliers able to provide one for you:

Problem solved.

All done though it took a bit of effort - thanks for your assistance.

Now on 1.7.2 after requesting PHP6 from my provider they had to transfer me to a newer server which then meant changes to email settings - they WISERHOSTING were very efficient and helpful as was 'FISHAREBEST'

Then I had to update Webtrees which took me a bit of faffing about and all because Julius Caesar was born in 100BC !!

Now I can work on transferring my Julio-Claudian family tree of 160 historical figures on to webtrees - I hope its worth it.
