I use 1.7.14 and it says up to date. At the Webpage .15 is promoted weeks ago.

Is there a testing time, delay or something or is it an issue?

> Is there a testing time, delay

No. webtrees checks for update every 24 hours.

After 24 hours, everyone should see the new version.

I guess that something has changed on your server (PHP version, PHP configuration), and your server cannot make HTTP requests to fetch remote files.

In the control panel / website logs, search for

Type: config
Message: LATEST_WT_VERSION

You will see updates to LATEST_WT_VERSION and LATEST_WT_VERSION_TIMESTAMP

The log verifies that the script runned after update, may the timestamp is to high?

Since since sept no update was checked, i will also check my config.

The timestamps are correct. 1569605573 = 2019-09-27 18:32:53 (UTC)

> Since since sept no update was checked, i will also check my config.

webtrees checks when you log in. (But only if the last check was > 24 hours ago).

If webtrees cannot connect to dev.webtrees.net, then it ignores the error and continues.

You could edit this file:

github.com/fisharebest/webtrees/blob/1.7/app/File.php#L84

Change "return null;" to "throw $ex;"

You may see an error message.

i used "echo $ex;" to make the var visible.
#0 [internal function]: Fisharebest\Webtrees\{closure}(2, 'failed loading ...', '/data/web/1/000...', 50, Array) #1
[..] /app/File.php(50): fsockopen('ssl://dev.webtr...', 443, 0, '', 5) #2
[..] /app/Functions/Functions.php(46): Fisharebest\Webtrees\File::fetchUrl('https://dev.web...') #3
[..]/index.php(53): Fisharebest\Webtrees\Functions\Functions::fetchLatestVersion() #4 {main}

failed loading ... does it means the connection will work and just failed or is the errornotice generic?

Since fopen is used, i have to check if my provider changed the php.ini in this point, without notice.

It would help to see the entire message...

If you want to use "echo", then try "echo $ex->getMessage();"
