I'm new to Webtrees, but I already have a problem:
I have imported an existing GEDCOM file from PhpGedView into a new webtree installation. Several media are linked here (for example,
1 FILE media/Lulu.jpg
2 FORM jpeg
3 TYPE photo)

Then I copied all media files into the folder data/media/.

Although I see all the data in Webtree, the media is not displayed.

I have also copied the media folder directly into the folder of webtree, but without success.

A manual allocation of the media files is unfortunately not possible because it is almost 1000 files.

In which folder do I have to copy the media files (and the thumbfiles) for the assignment to take place automatically?

In PGV, the "media/" prefix on the filename was optional.
PGV would sometimes ignore it.

So, it would look first for "data/media/" + "media/Lulu.jpg" (which does not exist).
Then it would look for "data/media/" + "Lulu.jpg" (which does exist).

webtrees looks for the exact filename only. It is looking for "data/media/media/Lulu.jpg"

So, you need to remove the "media/" from your file names.

There is a feature in webtrees to do this!

When you import your tree, there is an option "media path to remove". Enter "media/" here.
