Search and replace is a very useful feature but some time it hurts the tree when friends mistakenly hit on it as a general search.

How to Hide this just from menu search and keeping it safe in module/batch update?
The administrator has disabled public write access.

You can do this with CSS.
.menu-search-replace { display: none; }

By using /** * tag on
$this->menuSearchAndReplace()
