I just discovered an individual under his grandparents and his parents. I clicked on him from his grampy's family list and it shows the correct parents next to him. I had something weird happen the other day. It befuddled me but didn't seem to cause a problem. Now I'm scared to look. :)

I looked at the gedcom and the family# for him is what it's supposed to be. Are there any suggestions on how to get him out of grampy's family without deleting him?

Thanks

Go to the family record.

From the edit menu, choose "change family members".

You should see a "remove" link by the individual.

I can't find what you suggested. The "Edit" drop-down menu has these options- 'Add a name', 'Edit the gender', 'Delete', 'Edit the raw GEDCOM'

In GEDCOM (and hence in webtrees) there are two distinct types of data: individuals and families.

A family is a group of individuals (mother, father, children).

Individual facts (birth, death) are added to individuals.
Family facts (marriage, divorce) are added to families.

(It gets a bit confusing, as an individual page will also show data from that individual's families...)

You are looking at the edit menu of an *individual*.

You need to look at the edit menu of a *family*.
