I have never before had problems with upload of ged-files but now I get this error when the progress bar shows approx 90%:

SQLSTATE[22007]: Invalid datetime format: 1366 Incorrect string value: '\xF0\x9F\x93\x9E24...' for column 'o_gedcom' at row 1

I have tried with old ged-files that have been uploaded and processed OK

I am uploading a ged-file with 12.385 induviduals with a lot of notes (38.178KB).

Webtrees: 1.7.12 (have also tried 1.7.9)

PHP version: 7.1.26
memory_limit: 536870912

Database MariaDB v10.3.10

The error message means that your GEDCOM file contains invalid UTF8 characters.

Was the file created by webtrees? If not, how did you create it?

File is exported from Family Tree Maker as UTF8.

Is it possible to find the unlegal character in the fil?

This MySQL query will find the block of data that contains the error.

select chunk_data from wt_gedcom_chunk where imported = 0 order by gedcom_chunk_id limit 1;

You'll have to look at it and search for something "unusual".

I'm not a programmer so I don't know how to use the line you've written.

When I click on "gedcom_chunk" I see a lot of "chunk_data" of about 64 KB.
In the "imported" column, some are marked with 1 and some are marked with 0.

You are using PhpMyAdmin?

There's a tab called "SQL".

Copy/paste that line into this tab, and click "go".

You want to sort the rows by the column gedcom_chunk_id, and then find the first row with "imported=0".

Or the SQL query will take you straight to that line.

All I can tell you is that the error is in that 64KB block of data....

Problem solved.

I got this error message when loading the ged file:

SQLSTATE[22007]: Invalid datetime format: 1366 Incorrect string value: '\xF0\x9F\x93\x9E24...' for column 'o_gedcom' at row 1

If the code string "\xF0\x9F\x93\x9E" is inserted into the unicode converter at www.branah.com/unicode-converter then you get a red phone ?

The code string ends with the digits 2 and 4 which turned out to be the first digits in the telephone number.

In the "wt_gedcom_chunk" I found 45 chunks that had not been imported.
I didn't find the phone symbol in the first chunk.
I had to go to the 11th chunk to find the illegal character.
