Hello!

Is there a way to add an 'active' link (to an event for an individual) to an external static web page?

I know I could add a 'note' to an event with the url but that would just be a text string that would need to be copied & pasted.

Not a burning issue - just wondered.

Regards,

You may want to read about "Markdown" in the NOTEs tag.

Brilliant! Many thanks.

But it does beg another question - the 'link' doesn't appear blue (as in the example) - what do I need to do to enable that? (The link does turn red when hovering).

Hello Tim,
if you have written the URL completely, then the link is also blue; so http: // .....

url written correctly - link works and changes to red when hovering over it. Take focus away and normal black text - no visual clue it's a link (other than being preceded by the word)

Then you have a special definition!
For "my" webtrees, the link stays blue, but I see the link address in the lower left corner of the browser (Firefox).

Never really thought about it before but it must a setting somewhere - the title of an image is also a hyperlink and, in my webtrees, they don't display blue either!

I use css to style my markdown links, e.g. like this:

.markdown a {
	color:blue;
	text-decoration:underline;
}

(just add this to the css file of your preferred theme, e.g. in "webtrees\themes\webtrees\css-1.7.8\style.css")

The link is controlled by which theme you set as your default. If you use the Xenea Theme the line is display as you want it to be.

Thanks all for input - sorted! (I changed theme rather than add to css)
