As a result of some problems on my website, technical support has given me this analysis;
I have reviewed the server logs and have found some PHP scripts that have timed out:
Code:
/home/adkinsws/public_html/individual.php
/home/adkinsws/public_html/family.php
The website loading speed slows down when accessing the family tab of an individual. The family information does not seem to load, and while the process is running 504 errors occur on your website. I would advise consulting with a professional Web Developer to looking into the functionality of this script and optimize it.
The individual.php file only times out when the family one has been accessed. [<- Note: I am not entirely clear on the meaning of this.]
Please note that the PHP maximum_execution_time is 120 seconds and cannot be altered on the shared hosting environment.
I have commented on one statement, however, most of the analysis is over my head.
Any comments or suggestions welcome.
(I am currently using v. 1.7.13, JustBlack theme.)

I see that your site has replaced the standard "families" tab with the third-party module "extended relationships".

One of the sites that I host had also installed this module - and also experienced many timeouts with it.

My guess is that there is a bug in this module which causes it to get stuck in a loop, etc.

I think they mean that if you visit the family tab on one individual, and then navigate to another individual, then webtrees will open the same (family) tab by initially.

So, if you arrive at the family tab, you'll get a timeout - but if you arrive at another tab, then the family tab won't be generated until you click on it
